This recipe is the basic recipe we use to make all different kinds of breads and doughs. This is the recipe that we use to make dill bread, garlic bread, everything bagel bread, onion bread. These herb-infused breads are excellent for sandwiches. The recipe works well for pizza dough and focaccia bread, using the dough setting on the breadmaker. The lard adds an intense, unique buttery flavor which softens the dough.
We like to have some garlic herb bread on hand, as it can be handy for sandwiches or used as a base for a quick, air-fried pizza.

  • 1 Breadmachine


  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp lard, melted
